GET READY FOR FALL!
It’s time to think about Autumn garden activities! Here are a few tips to keep your gardens thriving.
TREE CARE: Give your trees long-term protection from deer rub, small animal damage, and sun scald with tree guards. September is the best time to apply plastic tree guards or breathable tree wrap to keep your trees safe this fall and winter. Remove tree protections in May, to allow the tree to breathe and give the trunk room to grow.

MULCH: Fall is a great time to add a 2″ to 3″ layer of mulch around your trees and landscape beds. Mulch insulates plant roots, protecting them from deep winter freezing. It also acts as a weed deterrent and aids in water retention.
WATERING: Trees and plants lose water during the winter from wind, sun scalding, and lack of moisture. Before the ground freezes, give your greens a thorough soak. Apply enough water so the ground is moist but not soggy.
ANIMAL CONTROL: Apply an animal repellent now to protect your fall bloomers and bulbs from deer, squirrels, and chipmunks. Protect trees and shrubs over winter with a liquid spray applied before freezing temperatures. Our animal repellents are available as a hose attachment for broadcast applications, in a hand spray bottle, and granular. We offer natural, pet-friendly products!
